Having never gotten a computer virus before, it is quite typical that as I embark on a project which requires me to have internet access every day, I get a virus which breaks my computer quite seriously, taking days to fix. I don’t know where it came from, but we have a sasser worm infection and it has taken Mat more than three days to fix. I did consider giving up on trying to achieve my goal with this blog, as I hadn’t even continued to take my pictures with the thought of uploading them after the computer was sorted – I didn’t think it would get fixed. The moral of THAT story is don’t be a pessimist. Anyway, I’ve decided to continue taking pictures, starting again today. I’ll keep numbering my entries, as it will be interesting at the end of the year to see just how many I managed out of a possible 366.
Today’s pictures were taken this morning on Redcar beach. I was down there before 7.30 this morning waiting for the sunrise, it was quite chilly but lovely to be able to just sit there and listen to the waves washing back and forth. I love the sea and the beach, I really don’t go there enough, and when I do go I realise how much I enjoy it. Anyway here are today’s pictures.

…And let me live among the stars.
Here’s today’s image. I had intended to go down to the beach for today’s picture, but it was way too windy to get the camera out in all that sand blowing around. So, as usual the picture got left till last minute! Not overly happy with this image, there’s too much of a flare around the moon but I like the cloud, it looks good.

Here is today’s picture. It’s something I have been meaning to do for a while but I finally got round to it tonight. I’m quite pleased with it actually, it looks pretty good I think. Nothing much to write about today, so I’ll just post the picture and leave it at that.

I couldn’t think of anything to take a picture of today, and I’m starting to find this a bit of a chore because I can’t get out to take decent pictures and I’m sick of poor lighting and still lifes and coming up with something ten minutes before I go to bed just for the sake of making an entry. Must try harder.
Anyway today’s picture is of my shoes that Mat bought me for Christmas. I love them. They’ve blistered my feet to heck and back, but I totally love them. Here they are:

As previously mentioned, Mat and I went to Asda yesterday. While we were there I bought some sweeties
And since then I have been steadily accelerating the rate of decay for my poor teeth because I opened one of the (thankfully small) bags and couldn’t leave them be! So I’ve been ‘grazing’ on them most of yesterday and today. Here are the offending little buggers – Sherbert Teddies:

Since a lot of my pictures have been still lifes, I thought today I’d include a picture which actually has something to do with what I’ve done today. However I’m not sure the lovely people of Asda would have liked me snapping away in there, so I didn’t take the camera there with me…I did consider photographing my tea before I ate it but decided against that…so I thought I’d take a picture of my second favourite place (the first being my bed). So here you go: I had an enjoyable and relaxing bath this evening, as I do at some point every day. Here is the picture.

Today I went to get the girls measured for their bridesmaid dresses. The bridal shop was incredibly busy but they did as much as they could to help us which was lovely. Came home, read some of my book, then went to do the food shop for the week. Tonight I watched AI with Mat, and despite the rain outside being quite a distraction, really enjoyed it and cried lots at the end!!
Today’s picture is my own simulated raindrops (well water hitting other water actually):

Today after my driving lesson, Mat and I went in to Middlesbrough to collect our wedding rings. So, I figured they’d make a good still life for today’s image. However, as is customary for wedding photographers, a funky still life of the rings is always better than a picture of them in their boxes or on people’s fingers. So, here they are: (Take that, Flickr-ites!)

This is the entry for Jan 17th. Yesterday my computer decided to go kaputt and would not turn on except in safe mode, meaning I couldn’t deal with my photos I took for yesterday’s entry. I tried to upload them from the other computer but it dodnes’t have the right software to deal with my CR2 files. Anyway, here is the picture – continuing along the theme of long exposures and playing with light. There will be another picture added later this evening, for today.
